WhatsApp Business Platform
Meta’s official platform for businesses to message customers at scale, via the Cloud API or On-Premises API. Often referred to as the WhatsApp Business API.
Cloud API
Meta-hosted version of the WhatsApp Business API. No server hosting required on your side — the most common way new businesses get on the platform today.
BSP (Business Solution Provider)
A Meta-approved partner that provides access to the WhatsApp Business API and related services. Whatsoza implements and manages your operation on top of the official platform.
WABA (WhatsApp Business Account)
The account that holds your business’s phone numbers, message templates and settings on the WhatsApp Business Platform.
Message Template
A pre-approved message format required for business-initiated messages (like notifications and marketing). Templates must be submitted to Meta for approval.
Customer Service Window (24-hour window)
After a customer messages you, you have 24 hours to reply with free-form messages. Outside that window you must use approved templates.
Opt-in
A customer’s explicit consent to receive WhatsApp messages from your business — the legal and policy basis for messaging them.
Conversation Pricing
Meta charges per 24-hour conversation, with categories such as marketing, utility, authentication and service. These fees are separate from any provider or implementation fees.
Official Business Account (OBA)
A status Meta grants to notable, verified brands, which can include the green verified badge (“green tick”) next to your business name.
Display Name
The business name shown to customers in WhatsApp. It must be approved by Meta and follow display-name guidelines.
Business Verification
Meta’s process of verifying your business in Business Manager, which unlocks higher messaging limits and capabilities.
Quality Rating
A health score for your number based on how recipients respond to your messages. Low quality can reduce your messaging limits or restrict your number.
Messaging Limit
The number of business-initiated conversations you can start in a 24-hour period. It increases as you verify and maintain good quality.
Broadcast
Sending an approved template message to many opted-in recipients at once — the compliant way to run WhatsApp campaigns.
Webhook
An automated callback that delivers WhatsApp events (like incoming messages or status updates) to your systems in real time — the backbone of integration.
